First, Recognize the Problem

First, Recognize the Problem

I’m starting to believe the biggest threat to humanity is our regular exposure to weapons-grade propaganda. It’s only a matter of time before the real shit hits the fan though. At the end of the day, when Maslow’s hierarchy of needs implodes like a poorly made souffle, whatever it is that you “believe” about the world around you just won’t matter.

If the reality is that you can’t get clean drinking water for a week, the reality is that you will die. If the reality is that sea levels are rising, then your beachfront property is gone. If the reality is that CO2 levels have increased to a point that the ecosystem no longer works, then it doesn’t matter who you voted for, because you’re fucked! If the reality is that someone uses the nuclear option, then all the posturing in the world isn’t going to save us.

Of course this is all just your typical fourteen year old bullshit “deep thoughts”. Even if I’m right about this, about all we can do is just sit back and watch as the trainwreck unfolds. If that’s not good enough for you, then learn about the world from people who actually study nature and science. Stay clear of the social media and its mind wars. Don’t get sucked into 24 hour news channels. Whenever possible, avoid toxic people and situations.

So what other actions could you take? Well I hate to say it, but protests don’t really do much these days. It’s like telling your parents you’re mad at them and you’re not going to talk to them anymore, and then turn around and ask them for your allowance. People in power love protesters. It means they got under your skin and now they own you. When you’re protesting, they know you aren’t doing anything productive to hinder their plans. What you should be doing instead is creating a new system of prosperity that doesn’t include them. So long as you keep relying on their prosperity, you’re their bitch.

It’s cliche, but it’s always darkest before the dawn. I’m guessing the demagoguery will grow to insane levels. Sure, people will get hurt, even killed, but that kind of madness is not sustainable. Eventually the survivors will gravitate towards saner parts, and once again free minds and ideas will build a more perfect world.

  1. The oldest rater says:

How do you put a “funniness” rating on something that’s only the least bit funny if it’s false… and it’s nothing of the sort?
