Don’t Be “That Guy”
So… Good news… I apparently don’t actually have chronic kidney disease! My kidneys are still not doing great but it wasn’t as bad as they first suggested. With proper diet and exercise I should be OK… uh… well [BLEEP]! Guess I’m a goner after all. But seriously, I am making improvements.
Fun fact: The art for today’s comic was actually created back in October of 2024. I seem to have slipped into this bad habit of starting comics and then never actually finishing them. It’s usually due to an artistic roadblock.
Something I was able to implement this time around is my new panel template. It may look like an unassuming 3 panel strip up there, but the template is actually capable of being adapted to a variety of configurations. I’ve also made some modifications to my speech bubble template to help me better adapt my scripts.
Not to digress, but scripting a comic is tougher than it looks. Trying to fit what you need to say into the limited confines of a panel can be tricky. The worst part is when you think you’ve got the perfect set-up and punchline, but then you realize it just won’t fit, so you start paring down the words, and now it’s not so funny anymore. Then again, brevity is the soul of wit.
So here it is, my first comic of the year, and I can promise you that unlike 2025, there will be more than 2 comics in 2026, so please stay tuned!
