Running Late

This comic was quite an exercise. I wanted to see if I could get my entire cast of soldiers in a single comic. I even got the arm patches right this time. For those who don’t know, they are wearing the CAPOC patch. This is the patch worn by soldiers in Civil Affairs and PSYOP. I went with it because that was the unit patch I used to wear. You wouldn’t believe how much work went into this strip, but it was actually kind of fun.

Running into an Old Flame

So Toni is back after all these years. Toni and Tyler separated before Tyler joined the Army. For those of you who are tracking, I’ve gone and added the rank back onto the uniforms. I’m also going to put the flag patch back. (ed. note: I just realized I got it backwards in the comic. The flag is supposed to go on the right arm. Ironic since I’m always annoyed at seeing the glaring mistakes in TV and Movie uniform portrayals.)

Actually my Laptop dual boots into both Linux and Windows 7. I’m working a lot of overtime this week, but I’ll try to install the upgrade on the 29th. If it doesn’t work out, I can always reinstall Windows 7… Or just reformat the whole thing and do a fresh install of Linux. The nice thing about being a Linux user is that you’re never more than 20 minutes away from a fresh new system.

The Phone Call

Just about every summer my unit would have a family picnic day. Soldiers generally brought a covered dish, their spouses (or SO’s), children, siblings, parents , and some even brought civilian friends. Uniforms were proscribed, but once I had to don my ACU’s because I was the designated driver for giving HMMWV (Humvee) rides. The kids loved it.
