Privacy Policy

Privacy is no joking matter to us. Flush Twice strives to respect the privacy of its visitors. Regrettably, maintaining people’s privacy is not a cut and dry matter. In the interests of transparency, we have provided the following information about our privacy policy. Every effort has been made to ensure accuracy, however the site is operated by use of the popular content management/blogging platform known as WordPress along with various third party “plugins”. These things are automatically updated when newer versions are released. While the “Gravatar” feature in WordPress has been disabled, and the plugins have been reviewed to ensure they do not violate the privacy policy, we cannot guarantee the software used does not contain code that may violate this privacy policy. In addition, the contents of Flush Twice are hosted by IX Web Hosting located in Columbus, Ohio, therefore you may also wish to consult their privacy policy as well. Flush Twice does not support SSL (secure and encrypted connections) which makes it possible for third parties to intercept communications with this site. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at flush2x@gmail.com.

What information do we collect?

With every site request, your IP address is recorded in our logs. Your IP address is also indexed along side any votes you have cast in our online polling widget and star rating widget. When commenting on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your: name or e-mail address. You may, however, use false names and/or e-mail addresses, but your IP address is indexed along side of your comment.

How long is the data in the log files maintained?

The IP address from a simple visit to the site is maintained up to 30 days. Visitors who cast a vote in the star rating or online poll will have their IP addresses recorded indefinitely. There is no easy way to delete the star rating data for an individual IP address without corrupting the entire star rating system. Even accessing star rating data for an individual vote after a certain period of time is difficult. Also the IP addresses of votes cast in the voting poll widget are stored until the poll is removed. The IP address, name, e-mail address, and website address of a visitor who leaves a comment will be stored indefinitely unless the comment is deleted.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. Although we collect your IP address, we do not disclose your IP address or any of its activities to third parties, however IP addresses determined to originate from bots or appear to have malicious intent are further analyzed to be aggregated into a CIDR address before being added to a “black list”. We may also release your information or a log of your IP address’s activities when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety.

Do we use cookies?

According to CookieChecker, we do not. However, cookies are used if a user has an account and logs into the site. Currently we do not allow for visitors to sign up for accounts.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page, and/or update the Privacy Policy modification date below.

Since our beginnings in 2003, we have received and complied with 0 (zero) government requests for information. (Not that we would ever be expected to since this is a “joke of the day” site, and we don’t really collect any personal information.)
